| The CBHA, which was founded in 1977, has played an integral role in the growth and development of the sport at the international level. Our nation has quickly built a heritage of success on the international field, and currently are the reigning World Champions at the Men’s, Women’s, U-16, U-18 and U-20 level. After capturing gold at the inaugural World Championships in 1996, Men's Team Canada has been Golden in 2001, 2003, 2005 & 2007 with an unprecedented 4 World Championships in a row. The men are currently readying themselves in preparation of the 2009 World Championships and we are expecting the toughest competition in the history of the Championships in Pilsen. We welcome the opportunity to visit the Czech Republic and experience all that its culture and people have to offer. After many years of success with the men's and junior national team, the Canadian Ball Hockey Association launched the first-ever women's national ball hockey program in 2005. After extensive scouting and selection process in 2006, Women's Team Canada competed at the World Street Hockey Championship in Dusseldorf, Germany, in June of 2007 and won its first gold medal. Now, Women's Team Canada is set to defend its gold medal in Pilsen. |
